The second-generation BMW X1 was launched at the Auto Expo 2016 only with a 2.0L diesel engine, both in xDrive and sDrive variants. Now the company has added a 2.0-litre petrol engine to the X1 range, priced at Rs 35.75 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.
The X1 sDrive20i xLine‘s 1998 cc 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine produces 191 hp at 5,000 rpm and 280 Nm of torque between 1,250 – 4,600 rpm. The engine is paired to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission with paddle shifters, and gets launch control feature. As the name suggests, the X1 petrol has a two-wheel drive (front) configuration.
The petrol X1 has a great list of features. These include LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, dual-zone auto AC, panoramic glass roof, iDrive infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, auto start/stop, 6 airbags, ABS, Brake Assist, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Park Distance Control (PDC), Traction Control, Attentive assistance, Tyre pressure indicator and reversing camera.
There are some xLine design elements such as side sill trim in matt silver, twin exhaust tailpipe trim in chrome, and aluminium door sills with BMW designation.
There are 5 exterior colours to choose from – Alpine White, Black Sapphire (metallic), Sparkling Brown (metallic), Mediterranean Blue (metallic) and Chestnut Bronze (metallic). Wheels are 18-inch light alloys shod with 225/50 run-flat tires.
