Honda will be launching the 2017 City facelift in the country on February 14th, and the details have surfaced online. Note that the following details have been read out of a blurry leaked brochure, and the final details might differ. The new city will come in five trims – S, SV, V, VX, and ZX. The E variant has been dropped, and S will be the new base variant.

Speaking of which, the base S will be available only with a petrol engine, while the rest of the trims get an option of a diesel engine as well. The automatic transmission (CVT) is exclusive to the petrol engine, and only to the V, VX and ZX trims. Which means, there wont be a diesel automatic City. The top end ZX petrol comes only with an automatic transmission. No petrol manual for the ZX. Auto variants get paddle shifters.

Talking about the engines, Honda has carried over the same units from the outgoing model. The 1.5 litre 4 cylinder i-VTEC petrol producing 119 hp and 145 Nm of torque, and the 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel producing 100 hp and 200 Nm of torque. While the petrol engines will get an option of 5 Speed manual or a CVT, the diesel gets a 6 Speed manual.

Moving on to the exterior features, LED headlamps and LED fog lamps are limited to the top end VX and ZX trims. Lower variants get halogen headlamps, and only V gets halogen fog lamps. However, LED DRLs have been made standard across the range. The top end ZX gets LED rear combi lamps as well. Electric sunroof with one-touch open/close is limited to the VX and ZX trims as well. While the V variant gets 15 inch diamond cut alloy wheels, the VX and ZX gets 16 inch diamond cut alloys. The lower variants get 15 inch steel wheels with covers. Except S, all variants get ORVM integrated LED blinkers.

On the inside, V, VX, and ZX get a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, voice recognition and reverse camera view, while the lower trims get a 3.5 inch LCD screen with bluetooth telephony. Similarly, the S and SV get 4 speakers, and the rest V, VX, and ZX get 8 speakers. Except the base S variant, rest all get automatic climate control with touch control panel, cruise control, driver seat height adjustment, power folding mirrors, and a customizable auto door locking feature. One touch driver auto up/down power window and telescopic steering adjustment is standard across the range too.

Moving on to the safety section, dual SRS airbags, ABS + EBD, rear ISOFIX mounts, day/night IRVM, rear defogger, driver seatbelt and door ajar warning are standard across the range. Top end ZX gets curtain airbags.

The new City gets an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 17.4 km/l for petrol MT, 18 km/l for CVT and 25.6 km/l for diesel.
