In an attempt to boost sales, Fiat India has cut the prices of Linea sedan and Punto Evo hatchback by 7.3% and 7% respectively. While almost every manufacturer has announced a price hike for new year, this comes as a a breath of fresh air, giving the consumer a reason to taste an Italian.
The new prices will be applicable with immediate effect on the current model year of the Linea and Punto EVO. This move brings the Linea range under the Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) category. As part of its vision for 2017, FCA – the parent of both Fiat and Jeep brands, is sharpening its focus on customer centricity, said the company in an official release. The Linea’s Active Diesel trim gets a price drop of Rs 23,570, and the top of the line Emotion diesel gets a massive cut of Rs 77, 121. The Punto Evo on the other hand gets a cut of up to Rs 47,365. FCA has revisited its pricing strategy on Fiat products to make them more attainable than before. The prices of the Urban Cross and the Avventura were already realigned in 2016 and so was the Abarth Punto which is the most affordable hot-hatch in India today, being positioned under Rs 10 lakh ex-showroom.
After the price cut on Linea and Punto Evo, customers will now spend less on registration, insurance premium outflow which optimises the initial Cost of Ownership, the company said.
