Joining the ICE-powered 2023 Tata Nexon facelift is its thoroughly updated EV sibling, the Nexon EV (stylized as Nexon.ev). Bookings are open online for a deposit of INR 21,000. The Nexon EV facelift is available in three main trims: Creative, Fearless, and Empowered, and of course, there’ll be Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR) options to choose from.
The styling revisions are in line with those of the ICE-powered variant, but you’ll notice some key differences such as a full-width light bar replacing the upper grille and a different grille pattern on the bumper. The lights perform welcome animation, as you might expect. The 16-inch alloy wheel design with aero inserts is exactly the same as those on the ICE-powered variant. Buyers get to choose from four colors: Pristine White, Daytona Grey, Intensi Teal, Flame Red, Creative Ocean and Empowered Oxide, and depending on the trim, the roof is blacked-out.
Inside, you get goodies such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen; a 10.25-inch digital cluster; Arcade.ev app suite that allows you to download a bunch of apps; a 9-speaker JBL audio system; ventilated front seats; height-adjustable driver seat; rear AC vents; 45-watt USB Type-C ports; voice-assisted electric sunroof; air purifier with AQI display, and more. Safety systems include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, roll-over mitigation, Traction Control, SOS call button, Hill Ascent Control, Hill Descent Control, front & rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, and a rear defogger.
Moving on to the juicy bits of the story, the front electric motor in the Medium Range variant offers 95 kW (129 metric hp) and 215 Nm (159 lb-ft) of torque, good for an official 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 9.2 seconds. A 30 kWh battery pack is claimed to offer a MIDC range of up to 325 km (202 mi).
In the Long Range variant, the motor offers 106.4 kW (145 metric hp) but the torque remains the same. The official 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time here is claimed to be 8.9 seconds. The battery pack in this case is 40.5 kWh, which is claimed to offer an MIDC range of up to 465 km (289 mi).
As for warranty, Tata Motors is offering 8 years or 1,60,000 km (whichever is earlier) on the battery pack and motor, and 3 years or 1,25,000 km (whichever is earlier) on the vehicle itself.
