Suzuki Jimny Rhino Edition shows off its retro flair

Yup, Suzuki’s Malaysian division has come up with the Jimny Rhino Edition that claims to offer even more retro-modern looks than the stock car already offers. As you can probably tell from the photos, the special edition offers a bunch of visual enhancements.

Speaking of which, there are some decals on the bonnet and on the side of the off-roader, with the side decals saying “Real Off-Roader”—which I think is rather cheesy and unnecessary. You can also notice a retro-style grille with a Suzuki wordmark, which is very similar to those of the J40 Land Cruisers. Other than that, there are red mud flaps and a Rhino Edition spare wheel cover.

A rear differential guard is the only non-visual but useful addition to the Jimny Rhino Edition. Not entirely sure what material it is made of, but it looks pretty thick and tough to handle the job of guarding the differential during off-roading adventures. No other changes; I mean, the 2-door Jimny is already a capable off-roader right off the factory floor.

The Jimny in Malaysia is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with 75 kW (102 metric hp) and 130 Nm (96 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is coupled with a 4-speed automatic gearbox and a transfer case (AllGrip Pro). Manual option is not available in the country.
