Nissan has updated the Sentra sedan for 2024 with subtle styling revisions and standard safety upgrades. Pricing information is not available just yet, but Nissan said that the 2024 Sentra goes on sale in late summer. The trim lineup includes S, SV and SR.
The styling updates can be found mainly on the front fascia where you’ll find a redesigned V-motion grille and a new bumper. It appears that the fog lights have been let go, which means the new headlights have the job of both being headlights and wading through the fog as well. S and SV trims get halogen headlights, while the SR trim boasts Reflector LED headlights. Projector LED headlights are optional on the SR trim. The SV trim gets an option of 17-inch machined aluminium-alloy wheels (16-inch standard). A power sliding glass moonroof is an optional extra on both SV and SR trims.
The photos here showcase the sporty Sentra SR trim with dark chrome elements; a body-colored lower trim strip below the grill; Red SR badges; a subtly resigned rear bumper, and of course, 18-inch 10-spoke aluminium-alloy wheels. Black 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels are optional.
Inside, key highlights include an 8-inch touchscreen (7-inch for S); a 7-inch MID (4.2-inch for S); Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity; heated front seats (standard on SR), and dual-zone climate control (standard on SR). Features such as a 6-way power driver’s seat with 2-way power lumbar; an 8-speaker Bose Premium audio system; quilted leather-appointed seats (SV); Prima-Tex-appointed seats (SR), and heated steering are all optional extras.
The Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of advanced driver assistance systems comes standard on all Sentra models. The suite includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection; Intelligent Forward Collision Warning; Blind Spot Warning; Rear Cross Traffic Alert; Lane Departure Warning; High Beam Assist, and Rear Automatic Braking. Intelligent Cruise Control and Intelligent Around View Monitor are optional extras.
The 2024 Sentra continues with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that pumps out 111 kW (151 metric hp/149 bhp) at 6,000 rpm and 198 Nm (146 lb-ft) of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine is hooked up with a CVT that drives the front wheels. Nissan claims that the 2024 model features a new Xtronic CVT “designed to reduce fuel consumption while providing a smoother shift pattern”. Also new is an Idle Stop-Start system, which can shut off the engine when the vehicle is stopped to help save fuel.
