You probably remember seeing the Brabus 1300 R not too long ago. The KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO-based mod featured, among other things, a generous carbon fibre application, and was limited to a total of 154 units. Now though, it’s time for the Brabus 1300 R Edition 23 to show off its dark side—in limited numbers, of course. The motorcycle is available in select markets and is limited to 290 units in total—split into 145 Super Black and 145 Stealth Gray models, priced at €42,500 per unit in Germany. Interested folks can place their pre-orders online at KTM’s official website.
As you can probably tell, the Brabus 1300 R Edition 23 is also based on the track-focused KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO, and looks very similar to the last year’s mod with a generous application of carbon fibre parts. Except that there’s no red seat and red accents this time around, but I reckon Brabus can customize it for you.
Other highlights of the 2023 model include forged 9-spoke Platinum Black wheels; Brabus slip-on double-pipe exhaust; a Brabus custom-made heated seat; Brabus start-up animation; black frame; Brabus CNC-machined triple clamp; Brabus CNC-machined adjustable front brake and clutch lever; Brabus CNC-machined adjustable foot pegs; Brabus CNC-machined reservoirs and oil tank caps; Brabus pillion seat cover; Brabus handlebar end mirrors; LED turn signals with integrated brake lights; WP APEX semi-active suspension; WP Pro steering damper; quick turn throttle twist grip; heated grips, and a lightweight lithium-ion battery.
The Brabus 1300 R Edition 23 carries over the KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO’s 1,301 cc V-twin engine as is since it already offers 132 kW (179 metric hp) and 140 Nm (103 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The rider gets to play with 5 riding modes: Street, Sport, Rain, Performance and Track.
