Those who find the regular Mercedes-Benz S-Class “boring”, can, of course, choose the more opulent Maybach S-Class. But how can you make something that already sits at the top of the brand’s luxury pyramid more luxurious? In other words, how can you cook a dish more when it is already cooked to perfection? You can’t, right? All you can do is garnish/beautify it. And that’s exactly what the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Haute Voiture is all about.
It takes the Maybach S680 and converts it into an Haute Couture-inspired model. As you can probably tell from one of the photos here, it is limited to 150 units. So, what’s this Haute Voiture all about? The exterior features a dual-tone theme of dark nautical blue and rose gold; the latter is also used for a pinstripe on the side. It appears that the wheels are also painted in dark nautical blue.
But I guess the Haute Voiture is mostly about that extra opulence inside where a high-quality bouclé fabric is used throughout the cabin, available in blue, beige, rose gold and gold shades, with additional intricate details featured within the seat covers and cushions. Another important material used is crystal white leather—on the centre consoles, door panels and cushions. The floormats are made of linen and mohair.
MBUX visualizes the catwalk vibes
The MBUX infotainment system features glitter clouds and a variety of accents in shimmering rose gold to further enhance the catwalk/fashion theme. In the profile selection menu, the driver is greeted with magnolia blossoms and sparkling particles. Twelve different avatars are adorned with fine accessories and elegantly dressed, for example in a dinner jacket, tailcoat or evening gown.
To make the Maybach experience extra special, the S-Class Haute Voiture will be accompanied by a hand-made gift box featuring its badge number, a scale model and a key ring. In addition, a special car cover featuring the Maybach and Haute Voiture logo will be gifted to the owners. A matching bag collection will also go on sale in early 2023 at Maybach Icons of Luxury physical and online stores.
