As you might remember, the 2023 Mercedes-AMG C 63 S made a controversial debut just over a month ago by ditching the famous biturbo V8 and adopting the ‘E Performance’ suffix instead. But ditching the V8 was something that was bound to happen, and don’t be surprised if the next-gen model ditches the ICE altogether. For now though, Mercedes is offering a limited special edition of this new C 63 S called the C 63 S E Performance F1 Edition—available in both sedan and estate bodystyles. Pricing information is yet to be disclosed.
So, what are we lookin’ at here? Well, in simple terms, it’s the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance with a sporty bodykit. The exterior is decorated with the AMG Aerodynamics Package that gets you a larger front splitter, a spoiler lip on the boot lid (Saloon only), and an additional diffuser insert. The AMG Night Package I and the AMG Night Package II add to the drama by painting the front splitter, the front wing insert, the outside mirror housing, the beltline strip and the window surrounds in high-gloss black. In addition, the grille louvres, the inserts in the rear bumper, the twin tailpipe inserts of the AMG exhaust system, and the model badge on the boot lid are all finished in black chrome.
The body itself is painted in alpine grey uni, contrasted with red pinstriping on the lower aero elements. The 20-inch AMG forged wheels in a 5-twin-spoke design are painted matt black, contrasted with a red pinstripe on the rim flange. The black & red color theme of the wheels is similar to those of the Official F1 Medical Car.
On the inside, the AMG Performance seats are upholstered in black Nappa leather with red contrast accents and stitching. The headrests feature embossed AMG emblems. The red contrast stitching can also be found on other parts including on the AMG Performance steering wheel. The seat belts are in red, while the carbon decorative elements feature red thread. The special edition badging and AMG floor mats with the F1 logo round off the package.
