2023 Maserati GranTurismo debuts with an all-electric Folgore

Just a first glimpse..

It appears that Maserati is still thinking super hard about fully revealing the next-gen GranTurismo because we still don’t have the full information. But I guess we do have a li’l more info than what we had last month. And so, Maserati has confirmed three variants of the 2023 GranTurismo: GranTurismo Modena, GranTurismo Trofeo, and of course, the GranTurismo Folgore.

At least for now, the GranTurismo Trofeo is gonna be the range-topping one when it comes to internal combustion. It comes with a sporty bodykit with carbon fibre inserts; that subtle bootlid spoiler you see at the rear is also made of carbon fibre. The 3.0L V6 Nettuno engine in this case produces 404.5 kW or 550 metric hp.

Next up, we have the GranTurismo Modena, sporting tamer looks compared with the Trofeo. The wheel design is also different in this case. This one too packs the same Nettuno engine, but the power output here is 360.5 kW or 490 metric hp.

And finally, we have the GranTurismo Folgore—which sports distinctive front & rear bumpers and wheel design. As mentioned, it’s gonna be an all-electric version with three motors—delivering an estimated 559 kW or 760 metric hp combined output. A 92.5 kWh battery pack should ensure a respectable range, while 800-volt architecture should ensure shorter charging times and consistent performance. Maserati says that the battery pack has a ‘T-bone’ shape, avoiding placing the battery modules under the seats and moving them around the central tunnel and therefore considerably lowering the car’s H-point (hip-point).

Maserati has reserved the interior reveal for another date, but says that the features list includes Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) Multimedia system and Sonus faber 3D sound system with up to 19 speakers (14 standard).

The new GranTurismo will also be available in the PrimaSerie 75th Anniversary Launch Edition, the details of which, are yet to be revealed.
