Mercedes-Benz India launches the 13th product for the year 2016 – the AMG C 43 4MATIC at Rs 74.35 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. As the name suggests, the C 43 is an entry level AMG-ized version of the C-Class, bridging the gap between C 200 (petrol) and the AMG C 63. Globally, the AMG C 43 is sold in Coupe and Cabriolet body styles, but for India it will come as a four door sedan.
The AMG C 43 packs a 2,996 cc 4-cylinder biturbo petrol engine producing 367 hp @ 5,500 – 6,000 rpm and 520 Nm of torque @ 2,000 – 4,200 rpm, mated to a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission with 4MATIC all wheel drive configuration. The torque is distributed 31% to the front axle and 69% to the rear axle.
Design wise, there is a subtle difference in the front fascia, esp. the bumper design and the grille slat. Understandably, the C 43 doesn’t look as aggressive as the C 63. The car rides on gloss black 18-inch AMG 5-spoke alloy wheels. Headlamps and tail lamps are full LED units and automatically adapts to the lighting and driving conditions.
Features wise though, the C 43 gets more or less the same features as the C 63. The Dynamic Select with ECO, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual modes, AMG Ride Control Sports Suspension, AMG Sports Exhaust System and so on.

The AMG C 43’s interior has ARTICO man-made leather seats, AMG instrument cluster, 5.5-inch multifunction display, nappa leather covered AMG steering wheel, Garmin MAP PILOT and so on.
On the safety front, it gets Parking Assist PARKTRONIC with reversing camera, ESP, ABS, BAS (Brake Assist), 7 airbags, ATTENTION ASSIST and so on. The car has scored 5 star rating from EURO NCAP.
The AMG C 43 does 0 – 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, and maxes out at 250 km/h.
