BMW Motorrad has launched the first-ever G 310 RR in India, priced at INR 285,000 for the base model and INR 299,000 for the G 310 RR Style Sport. Both prices are ex-showroom, Pan India. The Style Sport comes with exclusive racing livery-inspired graphics against the Light White Uni paint. The regular G 310 RR is painted in Black Storm Metallic.
As you probably guessed, the G 310 RR is BMW’s version of the TVS Apache RR 310 that has been on sale in the country since fall 2017. In case you missed the whole story, the Apache RR 310 is a fully-faired version of the BMW G 310 R naked motorcycle, which was co-developed by TVS and BMW Motorrad. The G 310 R also has an adventure sibling named G 310 GS. And yes, the G 310 RR will also be manufactured by TVS at its Hosur facility.
Key features include LED lighting all around, a TFT instrument display, BMW Motorrad ABS, and four riding modes (Track, Sport, Rain and Urban). Suspension duties are handled by a 41 mm upside down fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear with pre-load adjustability. Single discs measure 300 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear.
The G 310 RR is powered by a 312.12 cc single-cylinder engine that develops 25 kW (34 metric hp) at 9700 rpm and 27.3 Nm (20.1 lb-ft) of torque at 7700 rpm. But in Rain or Urban modes, the output figures are limited to 19 kW (26 metric hp) and 25 Nm (18.4 lb-ft). The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
