Why don’t we call it Bentley Continental GT Speed Mulliner?
As you might know, the Mulliner is the variant that sits on top of any Bentley model lineup with the best possible materials and finishes. If you decide to pick the Continental GT for example, the Continental GT Mulliner sits on top of the variant lineup. However, when it came to power, the Continental GT Speed is the one that packed more punch, that is until Bentley decided that the Mulliner too deserves that kinda power.
And so, we now have the updated Continental GT Mulliner, but if you think about it, it is just the Speed disguised as a new Mulliner. But anyway, exterior features include Mulliner branding on the front fenders/wings; black upper grille surround; a black lower grille and fog light housings; a black rear bootlid spoiler; black tailpipe finishers, and of course, 22-inch black wheels with self-leveling badges.
Active torque vectoring via eLSD; electronic all-wheel steering, three-chamber active air suspension with adaptive damping, and a 48-volt active anti-roll control system, are some of the other key highlights of the Continental GT Mulliner. Carbon ceramic brakes are optional.
The updated Continental GT Mulliner comes with the Mulliner Driving Specification as standard, which means you get “Diamond-in-Diamond” quilting on the seats, door panels and rear quarter panels, now with both contrast and accent stitching running through the diamonds. The seats feature an embroidered Mulliner branding, of course. For the driver, the digital gauges are designed to mimic the brushed-metal finish of the Breitling clocks. And the centre console features a diamond-milled technical finish, flanked on either side by Grand Black walnut veneer with chrome overlays.
Moving on to the juicy bits of the story, the 6.0L W12 TSI motor pumps out the same 485 kW (659 metric hp) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque as found in the Continental GT Speed. Compared with the previous Mulliner, there’s 24 metric hp more. The official performance figures are also the same as the GT Speed, which is 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 335 km/h (208 mph).
