In addition to introducing the front-wheel-drive C40 Recharge, Volvo Cars has updated the XC40 Recharge as well. The updates are mostly on the front fascia and are in line with the coupe variant.
There’s a new aerodynamic frameless “grille” design, new Pixel LED headlights with revised Thor’s Hammer signature, and a new front bumper design. The rest of the car remains fairly unchanged, except for a new set of wheels borrowed straight from the C40 Recharge. And of course, there are new exterior color options; the example featured here is painted in Sage Green.
Inside, buyers will have premium leather-free upholstery options. The rest of the features will, of course, remain unchanged, including a 9-inch central touchscreen, Google services, wireless smartphone charging, a 12-inch driver display, optional 13-speaker Harman Kardon audio system (8-speaker audio system standard), up to 1,302 litres (46 cu.ft.) of cargo space, and more.
The AWD XC40 Recharge offers 300 kW (408 metric hp) and a range of up to 417 km (259 mi) in European markets, while the FWD XC40 Recharge offers 170 kW (231 metric hp) and a range of up to 422 km (262 mi), again, in European markets. The official range figures are as per WLTP.
