It might still be February 2022 for most of us, but Chevrolet has revealed the 2023 Blazer that is expected to go on sale in summer 2022 in the U.S. market. Pricing will be revealed closer to the launch date. Highlights for 2023 include a slightly refreshed design and upgraded onboard technology.
Speaking of which, the front fascia features a revised grille design, new running lights and new LED headlights. There are also new wheel designs ranging from 18- to 21-inches. At the rear, there are new taillights. Optional exterior colors include: Fountain Blue, Sterling Gray Metallic, Copper Bronze Metallic and Radiant Red Tintcoat.
Inside, the central touchscreen is up from 8-inches to 10-inches. A wireless charging pad is standard on RS and Premier and available on 2LT and 3LT trims. A 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot can also be found in the options list (3 GB or 1-month trial data, whichever occurs first).
As for ADAS, Adaptive Cruise Control availability gets expanded to 2LT and 3LT trims. Chevy Safety Assist package is standard and includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and IntelliBeam auto high beams.
For 2023, the 2.5L engine option remains discontinued. However, the Blazer will offer a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 170 kW (231 metric hp/228 bhp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. This setup is standard on 2LT, 3LT and Premier trims. There’s also a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine with 230 kW (313 metric hp/308 bhp) and 366 Nm (270 lb-ft) of torque, also paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. This setup is standard on RS but is available on 3LT and Premier trims. AWD is available on LT, Premier and RS trims.
