Porsche adds another variant to its Macan range in India – the Macan R4 at Rs 76.84 lakh ex-showroom, Mumbai. The Porsche Macan R4 is the entry level variant of Porsche’s affordable SUV Macan in India. Porsche dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for a down payment of Rs 10 lakh.
The Macan R4 is powered by a 2.0 litre (1984 cc) 4 cyl petrol engine producing 252 hp @ 5,000 – 6,800 rpm and 370 Nm of torque @ 1,600 – 4,500 rpm. Transmission is taken care by Porsche’s 7 Speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) – a dual-clutch automatic transmission. Power is sent to all 4 wheels via “active all-wheel drive” system.
The Porsche Macan R4 can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, and top speed is rated at 229 km/h. Standard key features include Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, lane departure warning, electric tailgate, 18 inch wheels and some more. Being a base model, it misses out on several features include LED headlamps, panoramic sunroof, Air Suspension with ride height adjustment, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), navigation module and Bose or Burmester surround sound system.
The SUV measures 4697 mm in length, 1923 mm in width and 1624 mm in height. Wheelbase is measured at 2807 mm. The Macan has a drag coefficient of 0.36 Cd.
