A double-digit overall growth despite the global semiconductor pandemic.
Porsche delivered a total of 301,915 vehicles worldwide in 2021, registering a growth of 11% compared with 2020 sales. The all-electric Taycan models have managed to impress a lot more people than Porsche could’ve possibly imagined, and rightfully so. The company delivered 41,296 units in 2021, which is more than double the number of deliveries compared with the previous year.
Unsurprisingly, the sales were led by the Macan with 88,362 deliveries and Cayenne with 83,071 deliveries. Slotting behind the Taycan are 911 models with 38,464 deliveries, Panamera with 30,220 deliveries, and 718 models (Boxster and Cayman) with 20,502 deliveries. That’s right! The Taycan is outselling an iconic brand such as the 911! That said, the Taycan is a fantastic product and is an icon in its own right.
As for regional sales, the U.S. market registered a 22% growth in 2021, while the Chinese consumed the highest number of Porsches last year and delivered a growth of 8%. The communist country has been Porsche’s largest single market for a long time. Porsche’s home market delivered a growth of 9%, which is not bad either.
