Kawasaki has unveiled three models for 2022 at the EICMA show in Milan, which are Ninja H2 SX, Ninja H2 SX SE, and of course, the Versys 650. The company also plans to introduce three new electric motorcycles, the details of which will be revealed sometime in 2022.
Ninja H2 SX and Ninja H2 SX SE
These two motorcycles are claimed to be the first Japanese mass-production models and the first sport-tourer models to feature Bosch’s Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS). ARAS includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning and Blind-Spot Detection, which are normally found in cars. Other new features include Vehicle Hold Assist (VHA)—which offers supplementary brake force when stopped, and an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS)—which makes the brake light flash in order to alert the following vehicles of sudden deceleration.
A few more key highlights include a 6.5-inch color LCD screen with smartphone connectivity, and Kawasaki Electronic Control Suspension (KECS) with Skyhook technology for the Ninja H2 SX SE. The SE also gets Brembo Stylema monobloc front calipers.
Thanks to some engine tweaks, the new model is claimed to achieve cleaner exhaust emissions, improved fuel economy and stronger mid-range torque. The 998 cc in-line 4-cylinder supercharged engine pumps out 147 kW (200 metric hp) at 11,000 rpm and 137 Nm (101 lb-ft) of torque at 8,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
Prices in the UK start at £20,949 for the Ninja H2 SX and £23,949 for the Ninja H2 SX SE.
2022 Versys 650
As for the new Versys 650, key highlights include revised styling inspired by the bigger Versys 1000, a height-adjustable windshield, new LED headlights, a 4.3-inch color LCD screen with smartphone connectivity, and Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC).
There’s also the Grand Touring version which as you can see, gets some extra bits such as LED fog lights, color-matched 56-litre panniers, a 47-litre top case, a 12-volt power outlet, GPS bracket, and a tank pad.
The 649 cc parallel-twin engine pumps out 49 kW (67 metric hp) and 61 Nm (45 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
Prices in the UK start at £7,799.
