Irvine-based EV startup Alpha Motor has revealed a 4-door version of the ACE coupe called Saga. The Saga comes in two flavours: Saga and Supersaga; it’s the latter we are seeing here. While both feature the brand’s signature retro styling, the Supersaga gets a sporty body kit with generously exposed carbon fibre elements.
The retrolicious 4-door sedan measures 4,700 mm long, 1,970 mm wide and 1,430 mm tall. Since the photos suggest a generous interior space, you can expect a fairly big wheelbase figure as well. But anyway, Alpha claims a cargo capacity of 14 cubic feet (396 litres). The EV rides on 18-inch wheels as standard, while there are options for up to 20-inches.
The cabin takes the same, minimalistic approach as the other upcoming models in the Alpha lineup, but unlike in the base ACE model, both Saga and Supersaga feature a dedicated instrument cluster which appears to be some kind of an analogue-digital hybrid. Legroom appears to be generous, especially for the rear seat occupants.
Alpha is still not ready to fully reveal the specifications, however, the Saga will offer single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD options, while the Supersaga will only be dual-motor AWD. Both models are estimated to weigh 1,905 kg (4,200 lbs). Range is estimated to be over 483 km (300+ mi).
Alpha is accepting reservations for the Saga which starts at $40,000 and goes up to $50,000 (doesn’t include potential savings of up to $7,500). The startup doesn’t have a manufacturing facility yet, but is exploring contract manufacturing options.
