Lucid threw a fancy event to deliver the first batch of Air electric sedans in California, on Saturday, October 30. The startup has received more than 13,000 reservations, of which, 65 units were delivered yesterday, and the plan is to deliver 520 units during 2022, which means there are 455 more units to go.

The first batch delivered was of the top-of-the-line Air Dream Edition models which offer an EPA-rated range of up to 520 miles (837 km). There are actually two sub-variants in the Dream Edition, which are Performance and Range, offering 828 kW (1,126 metric hp/1,111 bhp) and 696 kW (946 metric hp/933 bhp) combined outputs, respectively. The Dream Edition gets the largest 118 kWh battery pack as well, featuring 22 modules totaling 6,600 cylindrical cells. Apparently, the cells have “a chemistry engineered to optimize performance and range”.
