Italy’s boutique car company Mazzanti Automobili has revealed a new iteration of its Evantra nameplate called Evantra Pura, which takes a more relaxed approach compared with the Evantra 771 and the Evantra Millecavalli R. It is also the lightest among the lineup.
The Evantra Pura carries over the other two Evantras’ high-tensile boxed-section steel chassis combined with molybdenum chrome subframe and roll cage. The engine and transmission unit is mounted in the most central and lowest position possible, thanks to the positioning of the fuel tank, which is between the front axle and the cockpit. The front and rear MacPherson struts are optionally adjustable. Braking duties are handled by carbon ceramic discs measuring 380 mm at the front and 360 mm at the rear. The car rides on OZ Racing wheels measuring 19-inch at the front and 20-inch at the rear, wrapped with Michelin tyres measuring 255/35 at the front and 315/30 at the rear.
Since these cars are built-to-order and built in limited numbers, the cockpit elements are customizable, such as the steering wheel with a racing version with a built-in display that shows key data; the shift paddles to suit the client’s hands; and of course, the driving position as well.
As for the juicy bits of the story, the Chevy-sourced 6.2-litre twin-turbo V8 engine has been carried over from the Evantra 771, but here it puts out slightly less: 560 kW (761 metric hp) at 6,300 rpm and 910 Nm (671 lb-ft) of torque at 4,300 rpm. Transmission appears to be a 7-speed sequential manual. Kerb weight is claimed to be 1,290 kg (2,844 lbs) which is 60 kg (132 lbs) lighter than the 771 and 90 kg (198 lbs) lighter than the Millecavalli R. The Pura claims a 0-100 km/h (60 mph) time of 2.9 seconds which is only 0.2 seconds slower than the 1,121 metric hp Millecavalli R. The top speed is claimed to be over 360 km/h (224 mph).
