For obvious reasons.
The global premiere of the Maserati Grecale SUV, originally scheduled for November 16th of this year, has been postponed to spring 2022, for reasons you might already know. In its official press statement, Maserati said that the ongoing global semiconductor chip shortage would not allow the company to cater to the global demand that follows post the premiere.
The Grecale will be a compact offering and will slot below the mid-size Levante. Teasers and spy shots suggest dimensions similar to Alfa Romeo Stelvio, which makes sense as it probably sits on the same platform. Further details are not yet available, obviously, but Maserati claims that the Grecale “features ground-breaking contents, particularly in the connectivity and human-machine interface areas”.
