Triumph has globally revealed the all-new Tiger Sport 660 as an entry-level offering in its Adventure category. The motorcycle is claimed to be the most powerful in its class with 81 metric hp and 64 Nm of torque on offer. Prices in the UK start at £8,450, and there are about 49 optional accessories if you fancy spending more. The Tiger Sport 660 has been listed on the Triumph India website as well, which means the price announcement for the market is not too far away.
In case you couldn’t figure it out already, the Tiger Sport 660 is essentially an adventure version of the Trident 660 that we saw a year ago. The windscreen is height-adjustable, of course. Other features include LED headlights, self-canceling turn signals, a color TFT display, Road and Rain modes, switchable traction control, ABS, and slip and assist clutch.
Braking duties are handled by twin 310 mm discs at the front gripped by Nissin two-piston sliding calipers, and a single 255 mm disc at the rear gripped by Nissin single-piston sliding caliper. Front suspension is a Showa 41 mm upside down fork with 150 mm travel, while at the rear, there’s a Showa monoshock with hydraulic preload adjustment and 150 mm travel.
The 660 cc in-line 3-cylinder liquid-cooled engine develops a maximum of 60 kW (81 metric hp) at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm (47 lb-ft) of torque at 6,250 rpm, the same figures as in the Trident 660. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. With fluids, the motorcycle weighs 206 kg (454 lbs), which is 17 kg (37.5 lbs) more than its naked sibling.
