Polestar has teamed-up with Swedish e-bike maker Cake for a special ‘Makka Polestar edition by Cake’ e-bike that debuted at the 2021 IAA in Munich. The luxury marque said that the e-bike will be available in limited numbers, although didn’t disclose the numbers or the price. But said that the e-bike “will be a flagship product in the new Polestar Additionals web shop”. Initially, it’ll be launched in Sweden, Germany, Norway, UK, Netherlands and Switzerland, with other markets to follow at a later date.
Apparently, the Makka can be used in combination with Polestar 2. A rear tow bar mount allows the e-bike to be transported and charged directly from the car while on the move. Once parked, the e-bike can be used as a last-mile commuter or even for off-road adventures, the company said.
The styling looks clean and elegant, almost as if it came from Cupertino, thanks to the white-black paint finish. Features include LED lighting and Öhlins rear damper. The Makka Polestar edition by Cake is based on the latest Makka range of e-bikes from Cake, with a starting price of $3,500. This special edition will, of course, cost a li’l bit more.
The Makka Polestar edition by Cake might offer 3.6 kW (5 metric hp), a top speed of over 45 km/h (28 mph), and a range of around 50 km (31 mi).
