Tata Motors has launched the Tigor EV facelift, with prices starting at INR 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Pan India. The facelift was revealed just a couple of weeks ago, and is available as a private vehicle.

Trim ex-Showroom Price
XE INR 11,99,000
XM INR 12,49,000
XZ+ INR 12,99,000
XZ+ dual-tone INR 13,14,000

Exterior features depending on the trim include projector headlights, LED running lights, LED taillight signatures, ORVM-integrated turn signals, piano black shark fin antenna, and ‘Hyperstyle’ wheel covers. Exterior paint options include Daytona Grey and Teal Blue, both can be combined with a black roof.

Features inside include a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, 4-speaker Harman audio system, a USB port at the front, a 12-volt socket front & rear, auto AC, height-adjustable driver seat, and a cooled glovebox. Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front fog lamps, a rearview camera, and a rear defogger.

As for the juicy bits, the electric motor now offers 55 kW (75 metric hp) and 170 Nm (125 lb-ft) of torque, which might not sound a lot compared to the Nexon EV, but significantly more compared to the outgoing model‘s mediocre figures. Tata claims a 0-60 km/h (37 mph) sprint time of 5.7 seconds, should such things interest you.

The new Tigor EV also boasts a 26 kWh battery pack (IP 67 rated), which is up by 4.5 kWh. Range as per ARAI testing conditions is claimed to be 306 km (190 mi). At a public fast-charging station (CCS 2), the Tigor EV is claimed to get juiced up from 0-80% in ~65 minutes.

Tata is offering an 8 year and 160,000 km (99,419 mi) battery and motor warranty, respectively.

EVs are fast gaining popularity on the back of rising comfort of customers, as the barriers to adoption are being overcome and due to growing preference for environmentally friendly solutions. This has been spearheaded by our very own Nexon EV, which today is the most popular EV in the Indian market. The increasing support from the central and the state Government, providing subsidies and a conducive environment for EVs to grow, inspires us to expand our EV offerings to our customers. – Shailesh Chandra, President, PVBU, Tata Motors
