The second-gen Ford GT is entering the final year of production with a special Heritage Edition that pays homage to the 1964 Ford GT prototype that went on to become America’s only Le Mans-winning supercar. You can catch a glimpse of the GT ’64 Heritage Edition at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this week.
This is not a goodbye edition though; rumour has it that a more powerful version is in the works. But anyway, as you can see, the GT ’64 Heritage Edition wears a livery similar to the original car, with a combination of Wimbledon White paint with Antimatter Blue contrast touches. The front splitter, rocker panels, engine vent surrounds and rear diffuser, are all in exposed carbon fibre. The wheels too are made of carbon fibre but are painted in Antimatter Blue.
Inside, you’ll find more exposed carbon fibre, but in a matte finish. The carbon fibre seats are wrapped with Lightspeed Blue Alcantara with silver contrast stitching. The same Alcantara can be found on the passenger side dashboard as well, while the steering wheel, pillars and headliner are wrapped in Ebony Alcantara.
The Ford GT is powered by a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 petrol engine with 492 kW (669 metric hp/660 bhp) and 746 Nm (550 lb-ft) of torque. A Getrag 7-speed DCT drives the rear wheels.
Approved applicants can order the 2022 Ford GT Heritage Edition; production is scheduled to begin in January.
