Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the electric version of its Supro diesel van, named eSupro, priced at Rs 8.45 lakhs for the cargo variant & Rs 8.75 lakhs for the passenger variant. All prices ex-showroom Delhi, post Govt subsidy and FAME incentives. The company also says the eSupro is India’s first all electric cargo and passenger van.
The eSupro is powered by a 25 Kw (34 hp) and 90 Nm electric motor, which can do 112 Km on a full charge with top speed of 60 km/h. The 72V battery pack can be charged via a 15 amp point, and takes about 8 hr 45 min to get fully charged. There’s also regenerative braking technology to make the most of the available juice. The instrument cluster gives information such as Status of Charge, Distance to Empty, Speed, Gear Engaged, Total Running and E-gen efficiency.
The eSupro has “Boost Mode” for climbing inclines with ease, and “Revive R” mode which gives 7 km extra range.
Speaking at the eSupro launch, Pravin Shah, President and Chief (Automotive), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “As one of the pioneer in integrated mobility solutions in India, it has always been our endeavor to make electric vehicles more accessible. The launch of eSupro will usher a whole new concept in emission-free cargo transportation and people movement. Going forward, the eSupro will provide a much needed fillip to companies in the B2B and ecommerce segment”.
