Ducati has launched the Streetfighter V4 and V4 S in India, priced at INR 19.99 lakh and INR 22.99 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The Streetfighter is essentially a naked version of the Panigale V4, and interestingly, it won the ‘Most Beautiful Bike’ title at EICMA 2019.
One of the key features of the Streetfighter are those biplane wings on the side, which are claimed to generate a total of 28 kg (63 lbs) downforce at 270 kph (168 mph). The key differences between the V4 and the V4 S are Sachs suspension vs Öhlins, cast aluminium alloy wheels vs forged aluminium, and a kerb weight of 201 kg (443 lbs) vs 199 kg (439 lbs). Also, the V4 is available only in ‘Ducati Red’, while the V4 S is also available in ‘Dark Stealth’.
Both motorcycles are powered by a 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale 90° V4 engine producing 153 kW (208 metric hp) at 13,000 rpm (up by 250 rpm) and a torque of 123 Nm (91 lb-ft) at 11,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) up/down EVO 2. An Akrapovič titanium exhaust system is optional — cuts down weight by 6 kg (13 lbs) and claims to offer 6% more power and torque at medium rpm.
Other standard features include full-LED lighting, Cornering ABS EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Slide Control (DSC), Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO, and Auto tyre calibration.
