Audi has finally revealed the production versions of the Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron all-electric crossovers that were revealed as concepts in 2019 and 2020, respectively. The Q4 e-tron will go on sale in Europe starting in June 2021, with prices in Germany starting at €41,900. The Sportback models will be available at a later date, with prices starting at €43,900 in Germany.

Variant Base price in Germany
Q4 35 e-tron €41,900
Q4 40 e-tron €47,500
Q4 50 e-tron quattro €52,900

You can expect the Sportback models to cost approximately €2,000 more. Also, depending on the variant, buyers can claim a subsidy of up to €9,000.

As expected, the production versions don’t look all that different from the concepts, which is a good thing. Check out the full gallery here. Both models measure 4,588 mm long with a wheelbase of 2,764 mm. The width of 1,865 mm (excluding mirrors) remains the same, while the Sportback is obviously, a bit shorter in height (1,632 vs 1,614 mm). The roof rails on the e-tron can bear a load of up to 75 kg (165 lbs).

As for the equipment, LED headlights come standard, while the buyers can go for the optional Matrix LED headlights comprising 16 individual LEDs in each unit. The wheel sizes range from 19- to 21-inches.

The suspension setup comprises McPherson struts at the front and a sophisticated five-link design at the rear. Buyers can go for the optional sport suspension (standard in S line) that lowers the ride height by 15 mm. Adaptive dampers can also be found in the options list.

There’ll also be the Edition One model, costing €6,195 more. It is based on the S line exterior and will be available in Geyser Blue and Typhoon Gray exterior paint finishes. Other features include darkened Matrix LED headlights and taillights, and 21-inch wheels — finished in bronze on the gray painted one. The cabin too features distinctive seat upholstery and contrast stitching.

The production interior of the Q4 e-tron was revealed last month. You can check that out in detail here. Features list includes a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, and an Augmented Reality Head-Up Display. There are a couple more options for larger displays; the example showcased above features the Virtual Cockpit Plus. The options list also includes Sonos premium sound system.

Safety and driver assistance systems include the usual stuff, such as Pre Sense Front, Collision Avoidance Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition System. Options include Adaptive Cruise Control, Side Assist, Exit Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Assist, Emergency Assist, and a few more. Download the press information sheet here to know more.

Moving on to the juicy bits of the story then, the Q4 e-tron siblings will be available in rear-wheel-drive or dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations.

The 35 e-tron variant offers a max output of 125 kW (170 metric hp) and a max torque of 310 Nm (229 lb-ft). The mid-spec 40 e-tron offers a max output of 150 kW (204 metric hp), while the max torque is the same at 310 Nm. However, there’s a difference in the battery packs. The 35 model packs a 52 kWh net, while the 40 model boasts a 77 kWh net, with claimed WLTP ranges of up to 349 km (217 mi) and 520 km (323 mi), respectively.
