Toyota’s Indonesian arm has revealed the new Fortuner TRD Sportivo based on the Fortuner facelift that debuted in June 2020 in Thailand. As before, the TRD Sportivo is available only in a rear-wheel-drive configuration, with prices starting at IDR 575,100,000 (INR 28.90 lakh).
The new TRD Sportivo is based on the regular Fortuner and not the Fortuner Legender. In fact, the Legender is not available in Indonesia, which means the TRD variant might be substituting the former. Compared to the regular Fortuner, the TRD Sportivo gets an even more busy-looking front bumper, a sporty rear bumper, and 18-inch TRD-branded alloy wheels. There are, of course, tastefully-applied black elements, such as on the front bumper, the front grille, and the mirror caps. The red pinstripe on the front grille and on the side decals look tasteful too. Personally, I think the TRD looks better than the Legender, especially in this ‘Dark Gray Mica Metallic’ color with all the subtle black and red accents.
The cabin has the familiar all-black theme. Feature list includes a 9-inch central touchscreen, a color MID, electrically-adjustable front seats, Qi wireless charging, and safety features such as Blind Spot Monitoring and Lane Departure Warning.
The Fortuner TRD Sportivo in Indonesia is available either with a 2.4L turbo diesel or a 2.7L naturally-aspirated petrol engine. The diesel engine develops 110 kW (150 metric hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, while the petrol engine pumps out 120 kW (163 metric hp) and 242 Nm (178 lb-ft) of torque. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
