Jeep India has begun local assembly of the Wrangler at its manufacturing facility near Pune, which has resulted in price reduction for the market compared to the CBU import prices. The Wrangler will be available in two variants in the country, priced at INR 53.90 lakh for the Wrangler Unlimited and INR 57.90 lakh for the Wrangler Rubicon. Both prices are ex-showroom, Pan India. Although now there’s about INR 10 lakh cut on the starting price, the on-road price in Bengaluru, for example, comes dangerously close to something like Mercedes GLC or BMW X3.
Depending on the variant, the feature list includes LED headlights, LED taillights, 18-inch aluminium wheels (17-inch for Rubicon), Rock-Trac 4×4 system, Tru-Lok differentials, 8.4-inch Uconnect central touchscreen, and dual-zone climate control. Download the specifications sheet here.
The off-roader in India is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 200 kW (272 metric hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. The gearbox is an 8-speed automatic.
