Kia has revealed the 2022 Stinger lineup for the North American market, scheduled to go on sale this spring with prices starting at US$ 36,090. The 2022 model builds on the 2021 facelift with minor styling tweaks, added features and revised powertrains. The lineup includes a special Scorpion Edition that’ll follow the regular models in late spring.

Speaking of which, the special edition gets blacked-out elements such as the fender garnish, side mirror caps and darkened exhaust tips; a rear spoiler, and unique black wheels. Buyers can pick from three exterior colors: Snow White, Aurora Black, and Ceramic Silver.

Overall, the Stinger lineup gets the standard LED headlights with a new running light signature or optional “Stinger-signature” headlights, standard LED taillights, new 18- and 19-inch wheel designs with technical geometric shapes, and quad exhaust tips. Besides the new logo and wheel designs, the 2022 model looks pretty similar to the 2021 Stinger GT. In the U.S. market, the 2022 Stinger will be available in three trims –

Trim MSRP
GT-Line $36,090
GT1 $43,690
GT2 $51,290

In the cabin, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen comes standard across all trims and so are the Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, wireless smartphone charging, 4.2-inch MID, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and active safety and driver assistance systems such as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Smart Cruise Control with stop & go and so on. The top-spec GT2 trim gets more such as a larger 7-inch MID, Head-Up Display, 15-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, 16-way power-adjustable driver seat, power tilt & telescopic steering wheel with memory seat integration, ventilated front seats and more.

Moving on to the juicy bits, the GT Line is powered by a 2.5-litre (2,497 cc) 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that develops 224 kW (304 metric hp) at 5,800 rpm and 422 Nm (311 lb-ft) of torque between 1,650-4,000 rpm. The GT1 and GT2 are powered by a 3.3-litre (3,342 cc) twin-turbo V6 petrol engine that pumps out 274 kW (373 metric hp) at 6,000 rpm and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque between 1,300-4,500 rpm. Both variants come in standard RWD or with the optional torque vectoring AWD. Gearbox is an 8-speed automatic.
