The Porsche Museum in Stuttgart which was closed for the pandemic is reopening for visitors from 16 March 2021. While it was closed, the team did some renovation work including the installation of new interactive stations and changing some of the exhibits.

The Porsche 956, which hung from the exhibition ceiling, was transferred to the workshop to carry out some maintenance work. It is now installed back in the same place. The underbody of the car has diffusers that vacuum-suck the car onto the road while driving; which means theoretically, the car can drive on the ceiling as well.

The photo booth was revamped during the closure, with new backgrounds available to the visitors to visualize the car against different scenery. A free print-out is available and the photo can be emailed as well for sharing on social media.

Visitors can enjoy the racing simulators as well with a curved screen and the steering wheel from a 911 GT3 Cup car. The high-performance pedals are claimed to make the response as direct and realistic as possible, while the racing seat is claimed to offer exceptional lateral support during cornering, and the D-BOX Motion System moves the driver sideways, up and down, forwards and backwards.

The ceiling lighting has been modernized with an aim to make the exhibits shine more than ever before. Visitors can also enjoy watching 3D-printed scale models on turntables. When a visitor approaches the interactive turntable, all cars stop their pause loop and turn to face the visitor. As soon as the turntable under the 911 moves, the other models rotate in sync.
