Why should smartphones have all the fun?
The 4th generation Skoda Octavia lineup has got a ‘Pro’ variant which according to Skoda, “is specifically tailored to the Chinese market”. As with most flagship smartphones out there (excluding Xperia Pro), the ‘Pro’ has nothing to do with the term ‘professional’, it just means that this Octavia has got a longer wheelbase.
Compared to the European Octavia, the Octavia Pro is longer by 64 mm to 4,753 mm, with its wheelbase extended by 44 mm to 2,730 mm. Compared to the third-generation Octavia, which will remain on sale in China alongside the new model, the Pro is 78 mm longer. Other than being longer, the Pro remains almost identical to its European siblings. It manages to look sporty with a black roof, black exterior mirror caps, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The LED headlights and taillights with Skoda signature crystalline elements come standard.
Features in the cabin include a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit (optional), a 12-inch central touchscreen, a Head-Up Display (optional), ventilated front seats, and assistance systems including Adaptive Cruise Control.
The Octavia Pro is powered by a 1.4L TSI petrol engine with 110 kW (150 metric hp) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque on offer. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG that drives the front wheels.
