Skoda has revealed the production name of the Vision IN concept that is expected to make its production version debut in March 2021. The concept was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.
As for the name ‘Kushaq’, the first and the last letters are fairly obvious; they’re in line with Skoda SUV naming tradition. The name itself is derived from ‘Kushak’ — a Sanskrit term for King or Ruler. Besides Kushaq, there were a few more contenders for the name including Kosmiq, Konarq and Kliq, but the marketing team or whoever responsible for naming Skodas, chose the one from Sanskrit. They probably thought Sanskrit is a sacred religious language and therefore might impart patriotism in Indians and bring sales.
Either way, the Skoda Kushaq is coming soon at a dealership near you. Meanwhile, have a look at the concept below if you haven’t already.
