First of two new Bentley PHEVs to be launched this year
The Bentley Bentayga facelift lineup now gets the PHEV variant, with order books open in United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and China. The Bentayga Hybrid benefits from all the styling and technology updates made on the regular Bentayga.
The photos we’re seeing here are of the First Edition which gets a tiny First Edition badge on the C-pillar. Compared to the regular Bentayga, the only visual distinguishing factor is a small ‘Hybrid’ badge on the lower section of the front door, and unlike the outgoing Hybrid model, there’s no Hybrid badging on the tailgate. The wheel design is the same as on the regular Bentayga.
The cabin of the Bentayga Hybrid First Edition features diamond-quilted leather upholstery with contrast stitching and First Edition embroidery. The rest of the features have been carried over from the regular model, such as 16-way electric front seat, 10.9-inch central touchscreen, 4-zone climate control, air suspension and so on. Moving on to the business end of the story then, the powertrain is a combination of a 3.0L V6 TFSI petrol engine, an electric motor and an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox. The ICE produces 250 kW (340 metric hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, while the e-motor develops 94 kW (128 metric hp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. The combined figures also remain the same as before, which is 330 kW (449 metric hp) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. Bentley claims a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time of 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 254 km/h (158 mph), should such things interest you.
The battery capacity of 17.3 kWh is the same as well, while the NEDC pure-electric range is up to 50 km (31 mi), which is a km less than the previous quote.
