After launching the 2021 R8 RWD Coupe and Spyder models in the U.S., Audi is now introducing the R8 Panther edition — limited to 30 units and is exclusive to the U.S. market.
The R8 Panther edition is all about visual enhancements. The exterior is finished in an exclusive Panther Black crystal effect paint with carbon exterior mirror housings, complemented with 20-inch 5-double-spoke wheels, milled cut, finished in matte black with red outlines. The Audi rings and badges are also in black.
Other standard features include LED headlights and LED taillights with dynamic turn signals. The car also gets carbon exterior package that adds carbon fibre to the engine compartment and carbon sigma sideblades.
The carbon package extends into the cockpit as well with carbon fibre high-gloss surrounds for both the instrument cluster and the air vents, as well as the center console. The racing shell seats are upholstered in Crimson red fine Nappa leather. Other standard features include Audi Virtual Cockpit, MMI Navigation Plus, and 13-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
The steering wheel is finished in leather-Alcantara combo with a Crimson red 12 o’clock marker. No mechanical changes; the 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 motor pumps out 397 kW (540 metric hp) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. A 7-speed S tronic gearbox drives the rear wheels. The official 0-60 mph (96.5 km/h) time is 3.6 seconds and the top speed is 201 mph (323 km/h).
The 2021 Audi R8 Panther Edition is priced at US$ 183,300 (MSRP).
