Honda has revealed the Rebel 1100 (CMX1100 Rebel), a new cruiser motorcycle powered by an engine derived from the Africa Twin adventure motorcycle. Prices in the U.S. market start at $9,299; the DCT variant is priced at $9,999.
The motorcycle has a styling very similar to the CMX500 Rebel. Features include a low seat height of 27.5-inches, a digital instrument display, cruise control, 43 mm front fork, Showa rear shocks with piggyback reservoirs, and single discs measuring 330 mm at the front and 256 mm at the rear.
At launch, the Rebel 1100 will be available with Metallic Black or Bordeaux Red Metallic finishes.
The 1,084 cc parallel-twin engine boasts a 270-degree crankshaft for “a pulsing, rhythmic sound”. It develops 74 kW (101 metric hp) and 98 Nm (72 lb-ft) of torque. Those figures are for Europe; it’s unclear whether the U.S. market will get the same numbers. Anyway, as standard, the engine is coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while a DCT is available as an option.
The motorcycle offers 4 riding modes (3 default modes plus a fourth user-customizable option), 3 levels of Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), and Wheelie Control.
The manual variant has a curb weight of 221 kg (487 lbs) while the DCT’s curb weight is 231 kg (509 lbs). Check out some more photos below.
