Lincoln has revealed the updated Nautilus SUV with subtle styling tweaks and a fresh interior with the latest onboard technology. It’ll arrive at North American dealerships in early 2021.
As a mid-cycle refresh, there isn’t much to talk about its exterior styling changes. The lower section of the front bumper has been revised, while at the rear, the taillights appear to have a new detailing. The lower section of the rear bumper too has some kind of a diffuser-like detailing.
No changes in the wheel designs either; they’re the same ones offered on the 2020 model. However, three new exterior colors have joined the palette: Asher Gray, Green Gem and Lincoln Flight Blue.
The cabin is where you’ll find significant changes; it almost looks like the next-generation model with its new dashboard, steering wheel and centre console design. In addition to the standard Sandstone and Black Ebony themes, there are two new Lincoln Black Label themes on offer: Chalet and Flight. The Chalet combines Espresso and Alpine Venetian leathers with deep Silverwood appliqués, while the Flight gives the “sensation of taking to the skies”, apparently.
As for the onboard technology, there’s a new SYNC 4 13.2-inch floating touchscreen, SiriusXM with 360L, a digital driver display, Phone As A Key, and standard Lincoln Co-Pilot360. There’s an optional Lincoln Co-Pilot360 Plus which gets a 360-degree camera with a front sensing system; Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go and lane-centering technology; Distance Alert/Distance Indication; Enhanced Active Park Assist, and Evasive Steering Assist.
Moving on to the business end of the story, the 2021 Nautilus continues to be powered by 2.0L and 2.7L petrol engines. The 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged unit offers the same 186 kW (250 bhp) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque, while the 2.7L V6 twin-turbo motor also offers the same 250 kW (335 bhp) and 515 Nm (380 lb-ft) of torque as on the outgoing model. Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that drives all four wheels. The 2.0L variants might be available with FWD configuration as well.
