[May 2021 update: 2021 Renault Kangoo lineup technical details revealed]
Renault has revealed the 3rd generation Kangoo Van with the lineup including an all-electric version as before. There’s also a low-cost version called Kangoo Express that is claimed to offer the best price-performance ratio in addition to offering the best storage in its segment.
As for the styling, the regular Kangoo tries to look a bit more premium compared to the low-cost Express model with its stylish wheels and black accents. In fact, the Kangoo looks more like an MPV while the Express model has the typical van-ish looks. The front fascia adopts the latest Renault design language with a T-shaped headlight-grille combo.
Thanks to the lack of a central pillar, the new Kangoo Van claims to offer the widest side access on the market with 1,416 mm (twice the size of its previous version).
As we can see, there are some fundamental differences between the cabin of the Kangoo (left) and the Kangoo Express (right), where the former manages to look a bit more premium while the latter appears basic.
The Easy Link touchscreen and the gearshift knob are mounted a little higher up in the Kangoo. Notice how the central air vents have been made smaller to accommodate the floating touchscreen.
Safety and driving aids would include a Permanent Rear View digital interior mirror, Trailer Swing Assist, Brake Stability Control and Advanced Emergency Active Braking.
Renault didn’t share the full details of the new Van yet, the company just said that “the all-new Kangoo Van will be available in two lengths, with manual and automatic transmission, in diesel, petrol and electric versions. Its useful volume ranges from 3.3 to 3.9 m³ in the standard version and from 4.2 to 4.9 m³ in the long version”.
The new Kangoo will go on sale from spring 2021.
