Ford India has launched the much awaited sixth generation Mustang at Rs 65 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. However, the company will accept bookings only from Delhi and Mumbai initially and from rest of the country at a later date. The Mustang will cost Rs 68.13 lakhs in Mumbai, ex-showroom. India will get a Fastback GT variant powered by a 5.0 litre V8 petrol engine, producing 396 hp @ 6500 RPM and 515 Nm of torque @ 4250 RPM, and is mated to a 6 Speed dual clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
Feature list of the India spec Ford Mustang include various driving modes (normal, snow/wet, sport, and track), steering feel adjustment, automatic headlamps, dual-zone climate control, 8 inch touch screen infotainment system, 9 speaker audio, SYNC2, rain-sensing wipers, heated and cooled seats, one touch auto windows, ambient lighting, hill launch assist, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system, 6 way power adjustable seats and many more.
On the safety front, the India spec Ford Mustang gets dual front airbags, side and curtain airbags, knee airbags, reversing camera, ABS + EBD, ESC, and pull-drift compensation (EPAS). The car measures 4784 mm in length, 2080 mm in width and 1391 mm in height. Wheelbase measures at 2720 mm. Fuel tank capacity is 60.9 litres.
Coming to the suspension bit, the front gets MacPherson struts and the rear has coil springs. The Ford Mustang sits on a massive 19 inch wheels, and comes in 6 different colors namely Oxford White, Ingot Silver, Triple Yellow Tri-coat, Magnetic, Race Red and Black.
