Mercedes-Benz has launched the EQC electric SUV in India, with an introductory starting price of INR 99,30,000 (US$ 135,473), ex-showroom, Pan India. That price is only for the first 50 units, which also includes AC Wall Box charger, home electrical charger, 5-year unlimited on-road assistance, 5-year comprehensive service package and 5-year unlimited km extended warranty.
The EQC production version made its global debut in Sweden over two years ago. Its production began in Bremen (Germany) in May last year.
Feature highlights include Multibeam LED headlights, a thin LED light band front and rear, 20-inch alloy wheels, MBUX system (12.3-inch infotainment display and 12.3-inch driver display), and safety equipment such as 7 airbags. Driver assistance systems include Blind-spot Assist and Lane Departure Warning.
The EQC is powered by two electric motors, one at each axle, forming an all-wheel drive. The total output is 408 hp (300 kW) and 765 Nm (564 lb-ft) of torque. A 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint is claimed to happen in 5.1 seconds while the top speed is limited to 180 km/h (112 mph). The 80 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is claimed to offer a range of over 450 km (280 mi) as per the WLTP cycle. The battery pack is DC fast charging capable and takes about 90 minutes to get recharged that way.
Mercedes-Benz India is offering 8 years or 1,60,000 km battery cover for the EQC.
