As all the cars get facelifted, new-generationed, or at least special-editioned, the X2 shouldn’t feel ignored. After adding a plug-in hybrid variant X2 xDrive25e recently, BMW is introducing the X2 M Mesh Edition, because obviously, the former is not gonna get a lot of attention.
Speaking of the attention-grabbing elements, the Mesh Edition has got generous amounts of it, including the mesh Kidney grille in High-Gloss Black; Frozen Black-Brown metallic accents such as on the lower front grille and wheel arches; extended BMW Individual High-Gloss Shawdoline elements such as tailpipes in Black Chrome and the ring around the rear badge in High-Gloss Black; and of course, Orange decals. The M aerodynamic wheels are available in 19- or 20-inches with accents in Orange or Black.
Naturally, the contrast accents have been carried over into the cabin in the form of floor mat bindings and contrast stitching on the seats, dashboard and door cards. The seat upholstery is in Mocha Brown leather with Alcantara inserts.
In addition, the dashboard and door cards get trim strips in Aluminium Hexagon Anthracite with an accent strip in Pearl-effect Chrome. X2 logo projection, Anthracite headliner, M stainless steel pedals, M driver’s footrest, and M leather steering wheel are some of the other features.
No mechanical changes. The X2 M Mesh Edition can be had with the same petrol (1.5L) and diesel (2.0L) powertrains as the regular X2, or even with the xDrive25e PHEV.
Goes on sale in Germany from November 2020; commands around €1,500 premium over the M Sport X model.
