As we saw in the list earlier, the Sonet offers a wide range of powertrain options. It starts with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that develops 83 hp (61 kW) and 115 Nm (85 lb-ft) of torque, and is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. For those who want performance, there’s a 1.0 T-GDI (turbocharged petrol) engine on offer that pumps out 120 hp (88 kW) and 172 Nm (127 lb-ft) of torque, and can be paired with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT.
On the diesel side, there’s a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, offered in two states of tune. With a 6-speed manual transmission, the engine produces 100 hp (74 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque, and with 6-speed automatic transmission, the output figures are 115 hp (85 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque.
