California-based startup Lucid Motors is estimating a range of up to 832 km (517 miles) on a single charge for its upcoming Air 4-door electric sedan that we saw back in 2016.
This new benchmark range was secured with FEV North America, Inc. in Auburn Hills, Michigan, applying the EPA’s Multicycle Test Procedure (SAE J1634 Oct 2012 Standard) with the standard adjustment factor. The results confirm that Lucid Air is the longest range electric vehicle to date, the startup claimed in an official statement.

Originally, Lucid had estimated a standard range of over 300+ miles (483+ km) with a 100 kWh battery pack, up to 644 km (400 miles) with a 130 kWh battery pack and up to 507 km (315 miles) for the Launch Edition — limited to 255 units.
The Lucid Air we’ve seen so far and here in this article, are the prototypes. The production version will debut in an online reveal on September 9, 2020, followed by the final specifications, available configurations, and pricing. In 2017, Lucid had announced a base price of $52,500. The new or updated starting price shouldn’t be too far from that.
