Datsun officially launches redi-Go hatchback today at Rs 2.38 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi. Pre-bookings were started on May 1 on Snapdeal, for a down payment of Rs 5,000.

Marketed as “Urban Cross” owing to its 185 mm ground clearance and YUKAN design philosophy, the key highlights of the redi-Go hatchback include LED DRLs, front power windows, power steering, music system with radio/CD/USB/AUX input and a driver’s airbag for the top of the line ‘S’ trim. The redi-Go will be offered in 5 colors, namely Ruby Red, White, Silver, Lime Green and Gray.
Based on the Common Module Family (CMF-A), the same platform as Kwid, the redi-Go measures 3,429 mm in length, 1,560 mm in width and 1,541 mm in height. Wheelbase measures 2,348 mm, and has a 4.7 metre turning radius. It’ll be powered by the same 0.8-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine, producing 54 hp at 5678 rpm and 72 Nm of torque at 4388 rpm. Transmission will be taken care of by a 5-speed manual for now, and an AMT option is said to follow later. The redi-Go has an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 25.17 km/l.
