Mazda has updated the Mazda3 Hatchback and Sedan for the model year 2021. The big update is the availability of a 2.5L turbocharged gasoline engine for both body styles.
Speaking of which, the Skyactiv-G 2.5T engine develops 250 hp and 434 Nm (320 lb-ft) of torque on premium 93 octane gas or 227 hp and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque with regular (87 octane) gas. Transmission is reported to be a 6-speed manual, and Mazda confirms that AWD will be standard on these models.

Standard exterior equipment includes LED headlights with auto on/off function, gloss black heated door mirrors, 18-inch black aluminum alloy wheels, and larger tailpipes. Options include a black rear lip spoiler for the Sedan and a black roof spoiler for the Hatchback.
The Mazda3 2.5 Turbo variants also come standard with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, Mazda Connected Services with 3-year trial and in-car Wi-Fi hotspot with 6-months or 2GB trial, Bose 12-speaker premium audio system, 8.8-inch infotainment system, two front USB ports, and Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry.
As for safety and driver assistance, the Mazda3 2.5 Turbo includes standard i-Activsense safety systems such as Mazda Radar Cruise Control with stop & go function, Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning with Lane-Keep Assist, Driver Attention Alert, Adaptive Front-lighting system and High Beam Control.
The Mazda3 2.5 Turbo variants will go on sale later this year as 2021 models. The markets include United States and Mexico.
