[Update: Volkswagen Nivus debuts in Brazil with European dreams]
VW’s Brazil subsidiary has revealed a couple of images of a camouflaged new crossover called ‘Nivus’. The “Urban Coupe” as Volkswagen puts it, is built on the MQB platform with its dimensions expected to be more or less the same as the Taigun, T-Cross, and Skoda Vision IN.
The camouflage doesn’t really hide its curves and lines and that’s probably the idea. The front fascia sports a typical Volkswagen family face while the rear has an integrated spoiler.
In some angles, the Nivus appears to be much bigger than the aforementioned siblings. Obviously, not many details are available to share just yet, but according to reports, the Nivus will be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. Transmission options are expected to be a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic (torque converter). What’s not expected, however, is the 4Motion AWD system.
