Dacia has revealed the brand’s first all-electric model called ‘Spring’, slated to go on sale in 2021 as “Europe’s most affordable all-electric car”. The Spring is, of course, Dacia-badged Renault K-ZE which is now on sale in China with prices starting at 61,800 yuan (€7,900).
The Spring is still a concept and gets only subtle changes to differentiate itself from the K-ZE besides the Dacia badges. The main differences we can see are in the headlamp and taillamp detailing with the latter sporting a ‘double-Y’ effect. Both headlamps and taillamps are full-LED units.
The exterior of this concept is finished in something called ‘pastel mouse grey’ with matte splashes of fluorescent orange.
Dacia says that the factory-standard model will have a range of over 200 km (WLTP). As for other technical details, in China, the K-ZE’s electric motor puts out 33 kW (45 hp) and 125 Nm of torque, drawing juice from a 26.8 kWh battery pack that can offer a range of up to 271 km (NEDC). It can apparently do a top speed of 105 km/h.
The battery is DC fast charging capable too with 30-80% State of Charge (SoC) claimed to happen in 30 minutes. Download the K-ZE brochure here (Chinese).
