At the CES 2020 (7 – 10 January), BMW is showcasing a special i3 with its interior transformed into that of a boutique hotel ambience. The goal is to demonstrate a sustainable mobility concept with a message that luxury travel in the future will have nothing to do with vehicle size.
The i3 Urban Suite leaves the driver’s seat and dashboard untouched, and modifies the rest of the interior to create a relaxed feel for the occupant. Besides a large, comfortable seat with footrest, there’s also a screen that flips down from the headliner and a personal Sound Zone. As for sustainability, the fabrics and floor mats contain recycled materials.
A fleet of standard BMW i3 cars were converted into Urban Suites in Munich and then brought to Las Vegas, where they can also be seen gracing the city’s streets. Anyone wishing to be chauffeur-driven to their desired destination can use a special app to order one of the i3 Urban Suites.
